Annual General Meeting in Hong Kong

21 JUNE, 2019

Jim Löfdahl of Frantzén’s Kitchen and The Flying Elk was this year’s SwedCham award winner.

On Friday 24 May, SwedCham Hong Kong hosted its Annual General Meeting of 2019 at The Foreign Correspondents’ Club. While enjoying a delicious lunch, the attending members were briefed about the past year, elected a new board of directors and congratulated the winner of this year’s SwedCham Annual Award.

A new board of directors was elected, and SwedCham would like to warmly welcome Patrik Ågren, CEO of the OSM Group, David Haqvinsson, general manager at Handelsbanken Hong Kong and Henrik Bootz, finance director Asia at EF Education First, as new directors of the board. We are also happy to welcome Anders Bergkvist, senior vice president of Stora Enso China, back after being re-elected during the meeting.

SwedCham extends its thanks to Jimmy Bjennmyr, Handelsbanken, and Emma Gardner, KPMG, for their hard work and dedication as directors of the board during 2018.

The SwedCham Annual Award was given to Frantzén’s Kitchen and received by the restaurant’s executive head chef Jim Löfdahl.

“Frantzén have bravely expanded their presence into Hong Kong, one of the most Michelin Star-dense cities in the world, with Frantzén’s Kitchen,” the chamber said in a statement. “They did it by showcasing the very best of what Swedish cuisine and [the Swedish] dining experience is all about, and at the same time, modernising and pushing the boundaries by experimenting with fusion Asian flavours.

“By further expanding with The Flying Elk in Hong Kong and Zén in Singapore, it is our view that the team behind Frantzén is making a strong impression on the food scene in Hong Kong and Asia. It is a joy to see the way they are proudly bringing Swedish heritage and artisan craftsmanship to Hong Kong, the city we love.”

Congratulations to the whole team behind Frantzén’s Kitchen!
