Member Hot Pot Fridays in Beijing
8 MARCH, 2019
The concept of Chinese hot pot is believed to date back more than 1,000 years to the time of the Jin Dynasty. Its roots can be found in the dining practices of Mongolian horsemen who rode across the steppe and into northern China. Legend has it that the Mongols used their helmets as vessels to simmer broth over open fires, and cooked chunks of meat in that broth.
In the spirit of food bringing people together, we have found new use of the hot-pot tradition in Beijing this spring, initiating a new concept that we are calling Member Hot Pot Fridays. Every Friday, we invite a new member for a tour of our new office, a discussion about recent trends and developments in the member company’s industry and a trip to our favourite local hot-pot place. Let us know if you would like to be our next Hot Pot Friday date in Beijing.
